Ananova:

A calendar featuring abandoned cars is raising cash for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.

Minging Motors 2003 is the idea of a local radio presenter who wants to highlight the problem of dumped vehicles.

BBC Three Counties Radio's breakfast presenter Nick Lawrence recruited a model for some shots but also appears nude himself.

Lucy Layton, who has just returned from Libya where she won the Miss Net World competition, poses with an abandoned camper van.

Only 495 of the A3 calendars are being made. They are being sent out on a first-come first-served basis in return for donations to the Children In Need fund.

The calendar features cars abandoned in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Mr Lawrence will appear in the calendar too, with his sidekick Justin Dealey, naked except for a Nick Lawrence Aware sticker by an abandoned car in Marsh Farm, Luton.

He said: "We will probably use the photograph for February as it's the month for romance - but also it's a short month so people won't have to look at our ugly mugs for too long!"
