JAMAICAN model Margo Morrison is currently in Libya preparing to be a finalist in the second staging of the innovative Miss Net World competition, the finals of which is set for tomorrow night in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Morrison and the other entrants, who were selected from hundreds of prospects on the Internet, were flown by private jet to Libya. Morrison is represented by Oxygen Models in London.

Since arriving in Libya, Morrison, who is one of the hottest properties to emerge from the upstart Dewight Peters-led Saint International Modelling Agency, has been participating in a reported whirlwind of activities including photo-shoots with leading international photographers, cocktail parties, stage training, sightseeing and fittings for the big night this weekend.

Leading couture designer Roberto Cavalli will be providing fashions for the event.

The event is being organised by Omar Harfouch (former director of the Elite Look of the Year competitions), who thought of its Libyan staging as a great way to draw attention to the pageant.

Though a relatively new event, the competiton has enjoyed prime time featuring in Switzerland, France and Germany. So as not to offend local custom, the event organisers decided to replace the traditional swimsuit contest with a runway walk in jeans and T-shirts.

The organisers have replaced the traditional panel of judges with electronic voting that will be open to anyone with an Internet connection. The voting will be conducted through the event's website (www.missnetworld.tv). Voters must register so they can't vote more than once and the Saint Interational CEO is urging Jamaicans to go to the website and vote for Margo Morrison.

Morrison is one of the several Saint International models who continue to break new ground on the international fashion landscape. Since arriving in London in February this year, she has been booked for major magazines including The Face, Sleazenation and Pride, as well as several shows during London Fashion week. Morrisson will depart for Milan in January where she is represented by MR Model Management.
